The quiet, electrically-powered Genie® GS™-2632 slab scissor lifts are excellent for indoor and outdoor construction, maintenance and installation applications on firm, level surfaces.
Scissor lifts are machines that move up and down. They have a platform to hold people and tools and are much safer than trying to do a job on a ladder or even scaffolding. Genie has an extensive range of scissor lifts, each with its own set of specifications. However, they all have these features in common:
Genie scissor lifts offer quality, dependability, and excellent customer service. It is easy to maneuver their scissor lifts in tight situations both indoors and out. However, they aren’t all-terrain vehicles and work best on a firm and level surface. Most are all electric machines so are quiet which is an advantage for the operators and the people who may be next door. They have large platforms so can accommodate more than one person and the equipment that you need for the job. They are built to last and are made of heavy-duty materials meaning that they will last.
Genie supplies a wide range of scissor lifts to suit different requirements and we’ll take a look at a couple of them here.
If you are looking for a compact model that can get into tight corners, you won’t go far wrong in choosing the GS1432m E-Drive. It has been designed to travel over sensitive flooring and to get into tight corners. It is ideal for indoor work in warehouses and retail stores. It is lightweight so is easy to operate. It is equipped with an all-electric AC drive system which is very quiet and allows you to complete the job without annoying other people with unpleasant noise.
The GS 2632 works equally well indoors and out as long as the surface is fairly level. It doesn’t have the type of wheels that cope with rough terrain. You can choose between having either an AC-E drive or a hydraulic drive. Both are very quiet but electric drives are more sensitive to the environment which means that things like dust and salt water spray can damage them. Hydraulic drives are designed to cope with the harshest conditions. If you want to use this scissor lift outside, you would be best choosing the hydraulic drive.
The important question is how much are you going to use your scissor lift? If you are in a business such as a retail store or warehouse where you will be using your scissor lift all the time, it makes sense to purchase one. Genie scissor lifts have a good reputation and are a good investment. However, if you are just taking on a one-off project, it would be more economical to rent one.
