Rayco Stump Grinders For Sale & Rent

In 1978, John M. Bowling started Rayco in Wooster, Ohio.  He built equipment to meet and exceed the industry’s needs. Today, the company designs and manufactures unique environmental equipment for every application or budget. Rayco makes stump cutters, crawler trucks, forestry mulchers, and an aerial trimmer.

Rayco offers a wide selection of stump grinders to fulfill industry needs. Variable speed controls, low-noise emission systems, quick-release wheels, and other features make Rayco stump grinders easy to use. Their stump grinders are notorious for packing a punch, so like Baumalight PTO stump grinders, they’re best for large commercial landscaping work.

What Are Rayco’s Best Models?

Rayco has a rich lineup of stump grinders that offer exceptional performance and versatility. Their line features five different models, each with their own unique set of features to suit any-sized job and budget. RG165T-R Stump Cutter: The Rayco RG165T-R Stump Cutter can remove large stumps quickly with retractable tracks that can fit through a 36″ (92 cm) gate and widen for stability. The 165-hp gasoline engine meets emissions without diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). A backfill blade simplifies cleanup. Plenty of horsepower and torque allow for maximum cutting wheel use.

RG80-R: The RG80-R has an 85-hp Ford engine with hydrostatic cutter wheel drive. The Command Cut enables the operator to alter swing speed independently of engine speed while preserving torque and HP. The propeller system has Hi, Low, and “creep” speeds for precision cutting. The RG80 has a waterproof and dustproof remote control. The large hydraulic backfill blade saves time and can be folded for gates. A custom Rayco TRG trailer is available.

RG74T-R: The Rayco RG74T-R is a high-production stump cutter driven by a 3.8L Cummins 74-hp diesel engine (400Nm). The big diesel engine has more cutting power than most stump cutters with 100 horsepower, and it meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards without having to use complicated after-treatment systems. The distinction is obvious.

RG55: The Kubota-powered RG55 has 4-wheel drive and a hydraulic backfill blade. Operators like the swing-out control station’s visibility and protection. The control station queues for gate travel. The RG55 maintains traction with wide flotation tires and 4-wheel drive. A hydraulic backfill blade saves time during cleanup so you can move on. The RG55R has wireless remotes.

RG55T-R: Non-marking rubber tracks and a hydraulic backfill blade are on the Kubota-powered RG55T-R. Swing-out control stations offer visibility and protection. The expandable, non-marking rubber track undercarriage enables a 50-inch cutting stance and retracts to 35 inches to fit through backyard gates. Hydraulic backfill blades speed up cleanup. The remote is dust, water, and element-proof.

RG37T: The RG37T can go where tires can’t. Rubber tracks are grippy and low-pressure. The Trac Jr.’s short track base is easier to spin and less damaging to turf. Counter-rotating tracks make stump-cutting easier. The swing-out control station provides cutting vision and lines up with gates. Trac Jr. has two-speed travel and a hydraulic backfill blade.

RG37 SUPER JR: Super Jr. has been used by professionals since 1986. Super Jr. has been used by professionals since 1986. The Super Jr. is affordable and versatile. 27 and 37 HP Super Jr gas engines (27.6 kW). For better visibility, all Super Jrs have the drivetrain far from the cutting wheel. Rayco’s swing-out control station offers cutting visibility and swings through gates. Super Jr.’s bar-tread flotation tires grip effectively. Rayco’s slewing ring pivot lowers and cuts deeper.

Should You Rent Or Buy A Rayco Stump Grinder?

The answer is, it depends. The most important factor when renting or buying a stump grinder is how soon you are going to use it again. If you are planning to cut up a lot of trees, or if you need to do some serious clearing work over the long term and not just one job at a time (like clear-cutting a woodlot), then renting might be better.
